Introduction

Many healthcare workers deal with electrical hazards on a consistent basis, which includes a possible electrocution or electric shock or contact with electrical hazards.

This course takes a closer look at the OSHA Standards and provides possible solutions to help keep you safe from electrical hazards in the healthcare industry.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, you should be able to:

LO 1.1.1 Discuss the recognized hazards for electrical equipment.
LO 1.1.2 Describe defective insulation hazards.

LO 1.1.5 Discuss why employers should use ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCI's).
